Photo of the week: All essays are handed in, which can only mean one thing... I'm back to baking! This zingy lemon tart didn't last 24hrs. It was a winner.
The first part of my final year at university is over, which is crazy scary. The good news is for a couple of weeks I have my weekends back before my next semester starts and it is wonderful. Today has been all about delving back into The Perks of Being a Wallflower, watching The Wild Thornberrys movie and making a picnic for a long walk this afternoon. Life should always be like this.
2. When my parents come to visit
Yesterday my parents came up to visit J and I. We ate lemon tart, chatted and discussed plans for my 21st birthday (how did I get so old?). It's so lovely to see them and we always have such a laugh together. I'm looking forward to spending more time together at the end of the month. They also ended up dancing around the living room, and I love them for it.
When I'm working, I tend to find a song and play it over and over and over. I'm one of those people that rinses a song until it cannot be played anymore. I also tend to break out into expressive dance when essay writing all gets a bit too much. I imagine J re-evaluates his life choices in those moments. Anyway, I found some awesome covers of Imagine Dragon's Demons. I've posted a particular favourite below. This one is also pretty wonderful.
Have you seen this?! It's a way of recording your big day in a completely cool and unique way. The one below is one of my favourites but you can see more on the website here. What song do you think you'd choose?
5. Sewing machine
So I told you my parents came down, but I didn't tell you that they bought my new favourite toy with them. Meet my new sewing machine, I've called her Betsy. She actually used to belong to my Nan, so she's passed down a couple of generations and happily fallen into my hands. I'm still learning the basics but I can't wait to get stuck into some projects. Do you have any cool projects you might recommend?
Happy Sunday, friends! x
